Getting started
- Open a drawing from Files, or share a PDF from Mail to Rough-In.
- No PDF handy? Tap Try a Sample Drawing on the home screen.
- Pick a tool along the bottom: Pen, Highlight, Text, Symbols, Count, Measure, White-out or Photo.
Common questions
- How do I open a PDF?
- From the home screen tap Open and choose it in Files, or in Mail tap the attachment, then Share → Rough-In. Pictures (JPG, PNG, iPhone photos) open the same way.
- Apple Pencil or finger?
- With a Pencil, the Pencil draws and your finger moves the sheet. No Pencil? Turn on Finger draws in the toolbar; then two fingers move the sheet.
- How do I send markups to someone who uses Bluebeam?
- Tap Send PDF → PDF for Bluebeam / Acrobat. Every markup stays editable there, with your initials. For a simple read-only copy use Flattened PDF.
- How do backup and restore work?
- Settings → Backup → Choose Backup Folder, then pick a folder in iCloud Drive or Dropbox. Every drawing you change is copied there with its markups. On a new iPad, Settings → Restore from Backup brings them back, still editable.
- How do I compare two revisions?
- Open the new drawing, then More → Compare with Older Print and pick the old one. Use Overlay, Side by Side or Blink; Cloud Changes clouds every difference and Bring Markups copies your old markups over.
- How do panel schedules work?
- In a drawing, More → Panel Schedules. Add a panel, tap a circuit to describe it, Select → Combine for 2- and 3-pole breakers, then Send to get an Excel file and a PDF card. Put your company name and logo in Settings → Company profile.
- Does it work without signal?
- Yes. Everything works offline. Sending and backup wait until you're connected.
